MIRA.DREI das Passbild meines Schattens
Dance performance / Dance installation

"MIRA.DREI das Passbild meines Schattens (MIRA.THREE a passport picture for my shadow)" is a performance, its collage-like narration coursing through picture worlds in spaces at Kolumba. In her new dance performance, parts of which may be interpreted as an installation as well, MIRA fathoms countless facets pertaining to the phenomenon of shadows. Why do we need shadowy spaces? Would it be worthwhile to live a life without shadows and where do we find the echo, the traces of a past that lies in the shadows? We live in a society that strives for transparency, one in which the private becomes public and personal communication mutates to a presentation of oneself. We model ourselves after a shadowless ideal image of ourselves and live in persistent fear of becoming invisible in a world where everything is made visible. "MIRA.DREI das Passbild meines Schattens" aims to give new space to the shadow, to illuminate it from various perspectives and make it into a protagonist of our senses. The decision to leave the traditional space of the stage makes it possible for the audience to assume new perspectives. To walk through rooms and touch them— to enter shadowy spaces and leave them again. To perceive the spaces, the performers and the objects in various atmospheres of light and from various angles. To create a shadow yourself or to become a shadow. Kolumba is a place, which itself pays homage to the interplay of light and shadow. The modern and the Antique combine to become a very artistic and distinctly aesthetic form. The echo of the past, the traces of history—the shadows—are present and may still be felt today. The unique fall of light causes new spaces of light and shadows to come about over and over again, making the artworks appear in a new light. The present and the past dancing together reappear in this relationship between art and architecture. Of light and shadows. Of inside and outside. "MIRA.DREI das Passbild meines Schattens." opens up a very personal and individual journey to each visitor.
