Since 1970, the painter Jürgen Paatz (b. 1943), based in the Lower Rhine region, has been radically questioning painting using the means of painting itself. The Workbook, edited by Barbara von Flüe, looks into the emphasis at Kolumba, making available for the first time a survey of the works that shows not only accompanying works on paper but also includes previously unknown photographs.
