Pastoral Team

The Franciscan Friars Minor have been in charge of the parish of St. Kolumba since 1958. There was already a branch of the Friars Minor (Minorites) in Cologne at the beginning of the 13th century. On November 30, 1221, the brothers of St. Francis made their way from Würzburg to the Rhine. Among others, Johannes Duns Scotus, who was beatified in 1991 and is buried in the neighboring Minorite church, worked here. A Franciscan reference in the Kolumba Chapel is a figure of St. Anthony created by Ewald Mataré during the Second World War: it shows the saint preaching to the fishes.
